Patches MacGee

Patches MacGee is the first in a small series of patchwork beauties. Formally a Pocahontas with a really bad haircut so the first thing she got was a total reroot. In scavenging through my craft supplies I ran across a ball of pastel ombre crochet cotton and decided to use it for her hair. It worked out wonderfully and laid the groundwork for the color scheme for the doll. All factory paint was removed and the repaint began. She was given soft blue eyes and lovely chocolate cherry lips. Patches of various sizes and colors were added to her face, neck, chest, back and arms. Some of the patches are sold colored, others have designs painted on them. In between each 'patch' there has been silver or gold painting to simulate decorative stitches such as would be on a crazy quilt. All painted surfaces have been thoroughly sealed with high quality varnishes.
Patches' outfit is made of calico cotton of the same pattern but alternate colors. The top is pale blue with pink heart flowers and the skirt is pink with blue heart flowers. There are snaps in the back so the dress is removable. Tiny patches have been sewn to the skirt portion of the dress, front and back. These patches were embellished with silver and gold threads. Her petticoat and bloomers also have patches of a similar manner. (The petticoat and bloomers are attached to each other and are not removable from the doll without damaging both items) Patches wears short fingerless gloves made of the same eyelet lace that trims her dress.

Patches MacGee is signed by the artist on one of the patches on her back. She will come with matching pink shoes and a Kaiser doll stand.
