Beauty Eternal
A one of a kind Egyptian Mummy
Beauty Eternal has had all traces of her original paint removed. Her eyes are now a lovely green, rimmed Egyptian style in black with pale blue and gold shadow. Her lips have also been painted a shimmering gold.
Her hair was partially rerooted with reddish brown hair and gold thread then formed into an intricate array of braids and twists. The hair on the back of her head has been braided, then the micro braids were plaited in an intricate pattern to make this a one of a kind hair style fit for an Egyptian queen.
Her body has been carefully wrapped in cotton fabric, torn into strips to give it a rough edge. The fabric was tea dyed to make it look of a proper age. (I know it looks pink in the pictures but the fabric is actually a very pale ecru in color, it's the lighting.) Each limb was wrapped individually before the over all wrap was applied. Glue was used in the place of resin so the wrappings are not removable. After she was fully dry a coat of matte varnish was applied over all the wrappings to act as a bit of water proofing but I would not recommend submerging her water. Her collar and hip girdle were hand sewn of gold lame and beaded. Multi-color clear and metallic beads, plus pearls were used to trim her clothing. On her girdle and in her hand you will find a scarlet scarab that has been hand crafted from Das Pronto clay.
Beauty Eternal comes with her own custom made 'gold' sarcophagus filled with items she will need in the after life. Necklaces of ruby and onyx line the upper shelf. The second shelf has two purses, one of gold and the other heart shaped 'lapis'. Finally at the bottom of the sarcophagus are several hangers and two pairs of shoes that match the purses. (Note: All items have been glued to the inside of the sarcophagus and are not removable.) The hand painted, original crest on the sarcophagus is a mix of Egyptian motifs and one's I thought would be appropriate for this doll. The sarcophagus makes a lovely display for the doll and she can be tied inside it with the gold cord provided.
