A strong hand shook his shoulder drawing him from the web of dreams he was entrapped in. He opened his eyes find a very bright set of blue eyes looking down at him.
"Arn"
A grin appeared on the young blonde's face. "Yeah. You were having those dreams again."
"Was I?" Daimonn reached up and ruffled Arn's hair. It was a gesture of affection he'd picked up from his mother. "I never can remember those dreams." They weren't really dreams but nightmares that often plagued his sleep. Sometimes he retained a vague fragment of them. A face, a sound, a scent but most often he didn't remember anything of the nightmare. "Thanks for waking me."
"Had to, you were disturbing my nap." Arn's blue orbs twinkled with mirth. He shifted his body so he was once again using Daimonn's stomach for a pillow.
"Always knew you were a selfish bastard." He couldn't help the grin that formed. Arn always managed to lift his spirits. Daimonn stroked a hand through Arn's hair. It was soft and thick but unlike his twin, Bella, it held little in the way of curl. Daimonn found it fascinating, the differences and similarities between Arn and his sisters. Arelette, the oldest, and Arabella, Arn's twin, were both petite and very voluptuous. Their hair was jet black and quite curly. Ariadne and Arn, on the other hand, were both tall with golden blonde hair that had a bit of wave to it but no real curl. Arn was already six feet tall, if slenderly built, but at the rate he was going he would soon catch up to his sister Ariadne. Only Ariadne had copper colored eyes the other three siblings had blue eyes of roughly the same hue. Arn's always seemed a bit darker then his sister's. "Where did Mimi go?"
"To get some liquid refreshment." Arn chuckled. "She said we were wearing her out."
Dai could tell his friend was relaxed and happy just by the tone of his voice. He'd never known anyone so completely comfortable in his own skin as Arn. Nor anyone his own age that was so accepting of his own quirks and shortcomings. Arn put up with a lot being his friend and Daimonn had wondered on more then one occasion why the other boy even bothered. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"Putting up with me."
Arn turned his head, looking over Dai's chest to his chin. "You do say the damnedest things sometimes, Dai. You are my friend, I love you. I do not put up with you, I happen to like you as you are. Dour, black moods and all." He gave Daimonn's ribs a light poke. "Remember that. And you're welcome....and thank you too."
"I like you just the way you are too. Smart-alecky, fast talking, walking hard-on that you may be." Daimonn chuckled as he received another poke in the ribs. It was harder for him to say then it was for Arn, but he managed to get it out. "I love you two, even when you are behaving like a total idiot and embarrassing me to death."
Arn smirked. "Without me you'd be some moldy old bookworm, sulking in some dank corner wondering what fun was." The steady caress of Dai's hand through his hair was lulling him back to sleep in spite of their conversation. "And without you I'd still be me but probably as such an obnoxious level as to get myself beaten to a pulp by my own siblings."
"And your sisters are some dangerous womens." Dai chuckled, closing his eyes. "Bella's gonna kill us for ditching her again."
"Yeah, but I'm going to die a happy and sated man."
